Learn the many ways you can save the bees with our special BEE SAVER invention
My friends and I have come up with a way to save bees from being decimated by every day mowing. We now save numerous bees with our easy-to- attach displacement device while helping our gardens as well as everyone around us.
After running over 45 bees in half an hour while mowing, we realized just how many bees must be getting killed with today's mowers that travel 10 to 12 mph. With our patented product, we can prevent mowers from killing so many bees. We have been saving a tremendous amount of bees since 2016. With your help we can all make a difference.
Our product is a blower system that can be attached to the front of any mower. The blower is battery operated and can be activated using a toggle switch conveniently located within reaching distance. The push mower comes with its own rechargeable battery. As you approach clover, you can turn on the blower which will push the bees out of the way before they are run over.
According to scientific research, there are millions of acres now being mowed today. Landowners who desire the "golf course look" are harming our planet. Clover, being a low growing plant, thrive in the areas being mowed and are death traps for honeybees and many other pollinators. They are so intent on pollinating and are unable to hear the way humans do, therefore they are very unaware of any danger around them. Even if you kill your clover because you like the carpet look, these lawns have no life and are a green desert.
According to research, they do nothing for the planet and are just pleasing to the eye. We must change for our grandchildren's future, be the first! People used to cut tennis court sized lawns but with today's mowers, they are now football or larger size lawns, with no children playing in them and no environmental value. Try cutting half of your lawn one day, the other half when needed, so food is always available. Letting your property have some high growth will amaze you. The golden rod is a beautiful yellow flower, cut a lane through the middle of your patch, grab your camera and enjoy snapping pictures of butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, crickets, grasshoppers and many more pollinators that will blow you away. The golden rod is good from September to Winter. The clover is food throughout June, July and August.
You can put up bee and butterfly friendly signs, so your neighbor doesn't think you are slacking and his yard is sharper than yours. Remember, the white flower from the clover is beautiful and beneficial to you and mankind. Where the children and animals play, cut these areas more often. When you can, mow late in the day, when the bee is on its way home. It's funny, in our research half the people never pushed a lawn mower in their life, now ride weekly, cutting the lawn even when it's brown or barely long enough to see any grass coming out of the mower. They go for a ride to feel like they did something because it's easy and fun for them, and as fast as these mowers go, pollinators don't have a chance. These mowers are like video games, people get hooked on them, there's a lot more important things you can do, you just need to get off your behind. Less mowing will give you time to be healthier. Back in the day, yards were much smaller with fruit trees, grape arbors, and gardens. Of course it's a lot harder to cultivate such a lifestyle, but the benefits will far exceed having a beautifully manicured lawn. Our poor grandchildren need us.
My friends and I noticed several years ago that bees and other potential pollinators attached to flowers are so preoccupied with collecting nectar that they do NOT detach themselves before mowing operation destroys them. Bees that are in route to the flower are deflected away. We noticed this repeatedly and hundreds of bees were injured or destroyed at every mowing depending on the number of flowers in the lawn as well as the time of day and the weather conditions. With all of the problems that bees are already facing, such as mites, pesticides and uneducated beekeeping methods, saving as many as we can would give them the numbers they need to survive the winter.
Knowing there is a major problem with pollinator decimation, we wondered what we could do to prevent this. We attached a gas powered leaf blower to the mower and the blast of air did displace the bees from the flower. We have since designed and built several prototypes to fit nearly all mowers, riders or push types, using other equipment besides bulky leaf blowers.
While we do realize there are better hours in the day to mow, the majority of us do it when we have time. Lawn care businesses mow all day long. We have alerted several lawn mowing business professionals as well as many small vegetable farmers who have confirmed and added to our evidence. We need your help to make sure that our invention reaches as many people as possible. Education is key. Research will open everyone's eyes to the plight of the pollinators.
